Singer Herman van Doorn and guitarist Herman Onnen met each other in France and experienced there a musical click. There, the idea was born to shine their Dutch light on the French chansons of van Doorn’s musical hero, French singer-songwriter Michel Fugain. The flame became a fierce fire and some years later there was a cool sparkling running tight and snug radiant album.

The upbeat music of Michel Fugain and his group Le Big Bazar conquered the world in the 70’s. also in Netherlands Fugain got big hits with songs like ‘Le printemps’, ‘Fais comme l'oiseau’ and ‘Une Belle Histoire’. Hermanherman chose their most favorite songs and rearranged them. A happy marriage between French repertoire and Dutch talent!

Along the way the ‘hermanherman sound’ emerged: guitar and vocals with contemporary grooves, luxury produced strings, horns and percussion. The most characteristic feature of this sound, the staggering layered backing vocals, which are a true extension of the lead vocals.
